About this Event
March Break Art Camp is a three-day creative adventure designed to spark curiosity, imagination, and confidence. Kids dive into hands-on printmaking and painting inspired by endangered animals and their habitats, exploring colour, texture, and playful mark-making along the way.
Through curiosity-led studio sessions, students experiment freely, observe closely, and experience the thrill of watching layered prints come to life—each one as vibrant and unique as the animals that inspire them. This camp blends creativity with discovery, inviting young artists to imagine, create, and care for the natural world.
Day 1: Galápagos Islands — Nature Gets Experimental
Travel (in spirit) to nature’s laboratory. Students create a collograph print of an endangered Galápagos animal while building elements of this extraordinary landscape—where evolution took unexpected turns.
Day 2: Rainforest — Hidden Layers of Life
Step into a world of colour and camouflage. Using layered monoprints in red, yellow, and blue, students explore transparency, pattern, and texture while imagining rainforest habitats filled with sloths, jaguars, frogs, and macaws.
Day 3: Choose an Endangered Animal Portrait
Artists choose an endangered animal from around the world and create a bold, Eric Carle–inspired portrait. Through colour, texture, and layers, each piece tells a story—what message would this animal share if it could speak?
Students leave with original artwork and boosted creative confidence, making this March Break one filled with imagination, discovery, and studio magic.
Camp Includes: All materials, guided instruction, studio time, and aprons.
