About this Event
Step into an inspiring International Women’s Day celebration headlined by award-winning comedian, speaker, and author Kate Davis—known for blending sharp humour with powerful insight. With more than two decades of experience, Davis helps audiences navigate stress, relationships, and resilience through her signature comedic lens. As the author of Second Best Mom, a candid and laugh-out-loud collection of stories about motherhood, her performances resonate for their honesty, warmth, and ability to turn shared experiences into meaningful moments of connection.
The evening also features special contributions from Collingwood’s Poet Laureate, My Friend’s House, and The Common Thread, sharing stories that spotlight the vital work supporting women in Collingwood and the continued importance of International Women’s Day within the community.
Spotlight on My Friend’s House
A special focus will be placed on My Friend’s House, a vital non-profit supporting women and children experiencing abuse across the Georgian Triangle. Insight into their impactful work will be shared, along with ways to help build safer, more supportive communities. Those interested in supporting their essential programs can make a donation through CanadaHelps via the Town of Collingwood’s International Women’s Day page.
Good Food, Great Company
Following the show, enjoy a relaxed networking session featuring food from Low Down, plus a book signing with Kate Davis—an opportunity to meet, connect, and continue the conversation. Gather with friends, spark new connections, and take part in an evening designed to inspire and uplift.
Sponsorship
International Women’s Day is proudly supported by Living Shore Spa, Living Water Retirement Residence, and Quaintrelle Medical Aesthetics—helping bring this meaningful celebration to life.
