About this Event
The Creemore Community Christmas Dinner has been a cherished tradition since 2001, thanks to the dedication of amazing Friends and Volunteers. The first dinner welcomed 15 people, and by 2014, 141 guests shared in the festive meal. Recent gatherings have continued to bring the community together with dozens of meals served each year.
This festive celebration is open to everyone, no matter age or circumstance, with the goal of bringing a little bit of Christmas joy to every attendee.
The event draws a wonderful mix of people — volunteers who love to cook or decorate, empty-nesters, grandparents whose family gatherings fall on another day, newcomers to town, families needing extra table space, and neighbours simply looking to share in the festive spirit. All are welcome to join in this special occasion.
Registration opens early to reserve a seat and assist with food planning. Every effort will be made to accommodate all guests, and no one will be turned away. Volunteers are also invited to help with decorating, food preparation, or meal delivery.
Dinner is served at Royal Canadian Legion, Creemore Branch 397.
Non-perishable food donations for the Creemore Community Food Bank are welcome, helping others celebrate this wonderful day. Pay-what-you-can (PWYC) contributions will also be accepted at the dinner to help cover costs. While the Legion generously provides the venue and kitchen, and much of the food is donated by community members, additional support helps make the event possible.
Volunteers are available to deliver hot Christmas meals to anyone in the Creemore/Avening area who may be unable to attend due to illness, disability, or other circumstances. Assistance with transportation to and from the hall is also offered. Simply indicate any needs when registering.
